Description
There is one Bible study that is mentioned in the scriptures that I am sure that all of us would have loved to attend. The study was given by Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) to two disciples who were walking away from Jerusalem, on the way to Emmaus. In this study Yeshua expounded the scriptures, from Moses and each of the prophets, and spoke of the things that concerned Him. It not only changed their view of Messiah; His ministry also changed their lives. Afterward, they said: “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32).
These disciples immediately returned to Jerusalem, where they were told that Yeshua had also appeared to Simon. That evening Yeshua appeared to his followers and said: “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled” (Luke 24:44). Yeshua mentioned that He was hidden within the three divisions of the Tanach (the Older Testament), but once again He revealed Himself from the pages of the Scriptures. We may say that Yeshua removed the veil from their minds, and showed them that the Messiah would have a much bigger ministry then they had understood, “Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures” (Luke 24:45).
Why don’t you join me in this course as we explore the Messianic psalms, that is those psalms which speak about the Messiah. Let’s discover what these psalms teach us about Messiah’s past, in His role as Prophet, His current role as Priest, and His future role as King of Kings. We will study two psalms each night over seven weeks and look at how the New Testament and the Rabbinical writings interpret these psalms.
