Description
Advanced Biblical Hebrew
The Advanced Biblical Hebrew course is designed for students who have completed our Beginner and Intermediate Hebrew course modules, or for those with significant knowledge of Biblical Hebrew. The course focuses on training students to utilise the text of the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, and the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon to translate well-known biblical passages and the Book of Ruth.
Students continue to explore the grammar and vocabulary of Biblical Hebrew. Weekly homework exercises focus on improving reading fluency and translation skills.

Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, the student will gain the following outcomes:
Gain confidence in Hebrew by translating the Book of Ruth and other selected passages
- Write comprehensive word studies
- Apply course material to one’s own personal life.

Course Instructor
The course is taught by Eleanor Miles. Eleanor holds a BA in Biblical Literature from Oral Roberts University, and is currently working on a Master of Divinity in Messianic Judaism from the Feinberg program at Talbot School of Theology. Eleanor has taught Biblical Hebrew in Australia and the USA for many years. Eleanor works with the ministry of Celebrate Messiah in Canberra, co-pastoring Hineh Yeshua Messianic Congregation.
