Description
Biblical Hebrew From First Words to Fluent Reading (Part 3, 2026) (Live Online Course)
Are you ready to delve deeper into Biblical Hebrew? Then join us as we begin to read the book of Ruth in its original majestic language, and explore Hebrew’s unique linguistic qualities. Biblical Hebrew From First Words to Fluent Reading Part 3 builds on language skills gained in Parts 1 & 2 and is designed for students with some prior knowledge of Hebrew.
In Part 3 we will examine the distinctive structure of the Biblical Hebrew sentence, focusing on features such as the definite object marker and the construct state. The weekly homework exercises accompanied by worked-out answers will continue to guide the students towards confident fluency. Our ‘Hebrew Gems’ articles will continue to examine grammatical points in biblical texts to reveal new insights into God’s Word.
The course features weekly tutorial and lecture sessions. Students are expected to spend a further 2-3 hours revising and completing the homework, aided by the fully-worked-out homework exercises for confident and efficient learning. The sessions have the following structure: Review homework from the previous week, read aloud in class, discuss new material, and introduce homework for the next week. Biblical Hebrew From First Words to Fluent Reading Part 3 is the third of a ten-part series on Biblical Hebrew, and will run for 10 weeks in Term 3. It will be followed by Parts 4 to 10 in 2026 – 2028.
