Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 3 2025 (Live Online Course)
Course Outline
Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 3 is designed for students who have completed Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 2, or for those with prior knowledge of the main grammatical features and a fair vocabulary range. The course will continue to deepen the student’s knowledge of sentence formation and will commence reading the Book of Ruth. There will be weekly homework exercises and in-class reading practice to develop and improve reading fluency. Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 3 will run for 10 weeks in Term 3. It will be followed by Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 4 in 2025, and Intermediate Biblical Hebrew Parts 1 – 4 in 2026.
Students will continue to use the textbook: Simon, E., Motzkin, L. and Resnikoff, I. (2005) First Hebrew Primer: The Adult Beginner’s Path to Biblical Hebrew. Third Edition. Berkeley, California: Publishing, EKS. to deepen their knowledge and translation of Biblical Hebrew.
The weekly classes will have the following structure: Review homework from previous week, introduce & discuss new material, read aloud in class, and introduce homework for the next week. There will also be periodic revision classes.

The Plural Construct State (Word-Pairs)
The Imperfect Tense
Imperfect Strong and Weak Verbs
Read a selection of short stories
Read Ruth 1:1-10

Course Instructor
The course will be taught by Eleanor Miles. Eleanor holds a BA in Biblical Literature from Oral Roberts University, and is currently working on a Master of Divinity in Messianic Judaism from the Feinberg program at Talbot School of Theology. Eleanor has taught Biblical Hebrew in Australia and the USA for many years. Eleanor works with the ministry of Celebrate Messiah in Canberra, co-pastoring Hineh Yeshua Messianic Congregation.
