As followers of the Messiah Jesus, we are deeply concerned about the growth of antisemitism in our nation:
- Threats against Jewish community centers are on the rise
- Anti-Semitic outbursts on college campuses nearly doubled from 2014-2015
- Attacks against Jewish people increased by 50% in 2016
We believe that all people are made in God’s image and oppose all forms of racism—especially antisemitism which is a particular offense to the God who chose the Jewish people for His holy purposes (Genesis 12:1-3). We call upon the Justice Department to act swiftly by intensifying investigations of these crimes and prosecuting those who are caught to the full extent of the law.
Finally, we call upon the Justice Department to release additional funds and manpower to those communities across our country that are under more explicit threats.
